About Me

Picture
Hi. My name is Katie and I live between Nottingham and Derby. I am currently training to become a Primary School teacher at the University of Derby and also in my spare time I am an Adult Instructor in the Air Training Corps.

I started keeping guinea pigs in 2004, after buying my first guinea pig, a Silver Agouti called Google, from the Derbyshire County Show- quite on impulse as I am an avid animal lover. He started it and now I don't think I will ever not have a guinea pig. I do not breed at the moment as I don't have the room- however it is something I am researching into and when I do start out I am interested in the following; Slates, Chocolates, Magpies and Self Blacks. Not many honest!

At college I completed a BTEC National Diploma with a Triple Distinction, two years of great fun in something I was really interested in. Following this I spent three months living in the Seychelles on a small Special Reserve island, called Cousin Island, working the rare land and sea birds and the Hawksbill turtles that came up to lay their nests. A truly amazing experience I will never forget!

Anyway thats me for now. Thank for visiting.
